Fighting wildfires by air is no easy proposition. Indeed, the weather around mountains is pretty intense, without a fire, and if you are flying around mountains, you have to read the mountain or it can put you into the side of it. Flying a glider teaches you this; I recommend it for anyone that doesn't understand what I am saying here.
